Nursing Administration

• Current valid RN status licensure
• A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• A Master’s degree (MS) or PhD in Nursing or health related field is preferred
• Certification in a clinical care area such as Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Critical Care Nurse Specialist Certification (CCNS) is preferred
• Certification for advanced life support such as: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Advanced life support (NALS), Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC)
• Other certifications is a plus
Work Experience:
• Minimum of ten years of clinical experience preferably in a critical care setting such as Emergency, Operating Room, ICUs
• Previous leadership experience in an American healthcare system is preferred

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Create the vision for the future of nursing, the systems and environment necessary to achieve that vision.
• Implement Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice developed by the American Nurse Association.
• Develop the nursing personnel starting from hiring, to training and retaining high quality nurses.
• Responsible for the practice of nursing throughout the organization by ensuring consistency in the standard of practice across all clinical settings.
• Create a nursing environment in which collaboration is valued and excellence in clinical care, education, and research is promoted and achieved
• Ensure the continued advancement of the profession of nursing by identifying and articulating the vision and strategic direction for the discipline of nursing and collaborating on the implementation of strategies to achieve them.
• Collaborate closely with School of Nursing leadership to coordinate students and nursing staff clinical learning development and experience.
• Provide leadership and direction for the development of strategies to promote the recruitment, retention, and recognition of excellence in nursing that are consistent with the mission, vision and values.
• Develop and maintain patient safety improvement and accreditation requirements.
• Develop and maintain evidence-based-practice patient centered nursing care.
• Collaborate with senior administrative team to exceed recognized industry standards for quality and patient safety.
• Lead key functions such as Event Review, Root Cause Analysis, Failure Modes and Effect Analysis, Patient Safety Tracers, and other patient safety initiatives related to nursing.
• Plans, implements and evaluates nursing clinical patient care.
• Develop and oversee quality improvement plans to assure a Continuous Quality Improvement Program related to nursing.
• Develop budget planning and administration related to nursing.
• Participate in delegated business operation systems, growth, information systems and other nursing related activities essential to the success of the institution.
• Coordinate physical resource utilization including space planning, asset management, supply purchasing, and property maintenance related to nursing.
