Work Schedule: 
42 hours per week.

Current Registered Nurse licensure, Bachelor’s Degree is required and a master is preferred.
Must be a Registered Nurse with at least 5 years of clinical experience in a related field including 3-5 years with leadership and/or management responsibilities.
Maintains Lebanese Order of Nurses registration.

Required Skills: 

Excellent communication skills and leadership skills.
Good knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Excellent verbal & written English skills. French is a plus.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

Supports the hospital mission, vision, and values.
Serves as a role model for nursing staff and demonstrate leadership ability and management skills through fair decision making.
Maintains proper channels of communication between different members of the team.
Plans and conducts regular unit meetings and maintains minutes of meetings.
Participates in Nursing Management Meetings and in other hospital committees as required.
Prepares monthly work schedules and arranges annual leave of staff.
Ensures that all staff are competent all Competency Tests are completed.
Ensures that the staff complies with in-service and continuing education policies of the institution.
Ensures proper orientation of new staff.
Conducts the annual appraisal of the staff utilizing self-appraisal and peer review.
Prepares reports and documents as required.
Conducts audits as needed.
Participates in the Quality Improvement Program.
Ensures compliance with Accreditation Standards.
Ensures adequate resources including staff and equipment.
Ensures that all staff is using properly equipment.
Participates in the budget planning.
Maintains inventories of equipment and other supplies.
Reports of unusual incidents and complaints to superior.
Reviews and evaluates policies and procedures and ensures staff compliance.
Develops, implements and maintains the standards of nursing practice and patient care.
Supervises, coordinates, and evaluates nursing activities / staff performance.
Monitors the quality of care and initiate action and implementation of the corrective measures.
Adheres to the hospital policies and procedures.
Supports patients and personnel.
Collaborates with other departments to enhance quality of patient care.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Is aware of safety issues and strives to accomplish all responsibilities in a safe manner.
Provides direct patient care when understaffed or with various cases and conditions.
Assists physicians while making rounds, and keeps informed of special orders concerning patients.
Ensures prompt communication to arrange patient transfer /transport.
Coordinates effective discharge planning.
Provides assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Supports and mentors newly hired nurses or nursing students.
Identifies learning needs of staff and participates in the training programs as required besides conducting incidental teaching in the unit.
Continuous Professional Development
Updates current professional knowledge and developments.
Participates in the internal education program of the unit.
Attends in-service training required by the hospital.
Maintains Basic Life Support every two years.
Maintains Advanced Cardiac Life Support every two years when appropriate.
