Work Schedule: 
42 hours per week.

 Current Registered Nurse licensure, Bachelor’s Degree is required.
 Moderate sedation training and or certification is preferred.

Required Skills: 

 Good knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
 Good verbal & written English skills. French is a plus.
 Maintaining Lebanese Order of Nurses registration.
 Good communication skills.
 Compassionate personality.
 Team worker.
 Ability to adapt in stressful situations.
 Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

Administrative :
 Respects the hospital mission, vision, and values.
 Participates in unit meetings and in other hospital committees as assigned.
 Participates in Quality Improvement Plans.
 Reports of unusual incidents and complaints to superior.
Clinical :
 Helps transfer patient to operating room table.
 Participates in pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation.
 Prepares Anesthesia equipment and supplies appropriately for procedures.
 Calibrates and test anesthesia equipment.
 Prepares prescribed solutions.
 Selects, applies and / or inserts appropriate non-invasive monitoring devices for continuous evaluation of the patient’s physical status.
 Assists the anesthesiologist in the induction, the intubation and the extubation.
 Continuously, monitors airway, oxygenation, pulmonary & cardiovascular status, temperature, neuromuscular function, positioning and status.
 Assists the anesthesiologist upon transfer of the patient from intraoperative to post-operative care provider.
 Assists in cleaning of room and preparing for next patient.
 Participates in patient / family education on the care and management of condition when necessary.
 Participates in patient / family education on the care and management of condition when necessary.
 Provides assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
 Performs all nursing duties while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
 Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and procedures.
 Performs routine nursing care to assigned patients, while utilizing universal precaution practices at all times.
 Is aware of safety issues and strive to accomplish all responsibilities in a safe manner.
 Handles and is knowledgeable of all medical equipment utilized in the care of the patient.
 Maintains BLS, ACLS & PALS every year.

Pain Management :
 Performs daily patient rounds, evaluates pain management therapies and identifies actual side effects related to therapy.
 Acts as a role model by performing thorough pain assessments, documenting pain assessments, interventions and outcomes.
 Collaborates with anesthesia in making clinical recommendations to optimize the provision of pain care.
 Delivers educational pain information and teaches to patients and families as required.
 Participate in developing, implementing and evaluating policies and procedures related to the assessment, management and education of patients experiencing pain.
 Participating in committee and task force work within the institution as they relate to pain management issues.
 Participating in the evaluation of new pain related products, equipment and techniques.
