• A qualified candidate has a bachelor’s degree in nursing. A master’s degree in nursing, public health, health administration or health management is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years in a clinical nursing position
• A minimum of 3 years work experience in Risk Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Quality Management, or other relevant work experience

Required Skills: 

• Knowledge of risk management principles, concepts, strategies, methodology and tools.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety activities and functions within a hospital.
• Knowledge of Lebanese Ministry of Public Health accreditation standards for Occupational Health & Safety, and Risk Management.
• Problem solving and solution development, data collection, data analysis, and root cause analysis (RCA), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

1. Manage the day-to-day operation of the hospital’s Risk Management and Occupational Health & Safety programs.
2. Ensure that the hospital complies with applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to risk management and occupational health and safety.
3. Develop, maintain and execute against a written Risk Management plan and Occupational Health & Safety plan.
4. Participate in the development and management of the hospital’s Emergency Preparedness Plan and Program.
5. Work closely with each hospital department to ensure their understanding and compliance with risk management and OH&S policies and procedures.
6. Educate and train members of the hospital community about their role in providing a safe and health facility.
7. Educate staff about the facility, how to reduce risks, and how to monitor and to report situations that pose a risk.
8. Conduct safety training and educational programs; demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
9. Maintain a policy and procedure manual which describes the hospital’s Risk Management and OH&S system and services. Ensure that policies and procedures are clearly identified; presented in a hospital wide, uniform manner; the index for the policy and procedure manual is accurate
10. Establish and monitor performance indicators used to evaluate important systems and to identify needed improvements.
11. Support the monitoring and reporting of data on incidents, injuries, and other events that support planning and further risk reduction.
12. Investigate accidents to identify causes and to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
13. Oversee the hospital’s hazard reporting system.
14. Maintain actions plans which provide evidence of planned intervention to rectify identified problems
15. Participate in the inspection of all buildings and plans to reduce evident risks and to provide a safe physical facility for patients, families, staff, employees and visitors.
16. Conduct an annual hospital wide Risk Management and OH&S hazard identification audit.
17. Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices, in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
18. To set up a comprehensive policy of prevention and evaluation of risks.
19. Oversee the employee, medical staff, and student immunization program and maintain evidence of immunization activity
20. Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
21. Collaborate with departments leaders to institute control and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions or equipment.
