Work Schedule: 
Regular schedule (42 hours / week).

 Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics required. Approved internship/traineeship.
 Must have basic knowledge of dietetic principles, food sanitation, and food service operation

Required Skills: 

 Excellent verbal and written English skills. French is a plus.
 Good knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
 Knowledge of modern principles and practices in dietetics.
 Good organizational and interpersonal skills
 Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

 Attend ward rounds to ensure that appropriate diets are being prescribed.
 Visit patients to do initial nutritional assessment and screening, explain diet prescription, record food preferences, allergies and intolerance and promote a quality food service.
 Assess, diagnose, intervene, monitor and evaluate nutritional Care Plan for high risk patients within interdisciplinary Care Plan meetings.
 Monitor high risk patient’s response to the developed nutrition care plan. Keep thorough and updated information into patient’s medical record.
 Educate inpatients or any significant other family member regarding specific therapeutic diets as part of their medical treatment.
 Check trays for accuracy before they are delivered, specially during weekends.
 Advice and process new diet orders and diet changes, and keep diet cards updated.
 Have interest in science and food, able to communicate with people from all areas of the community, able to simplify complex things, have a motivating attitude, an understanding non-discriminatory approach as well as patience and a sense of humour
 Follow and ensure strict safety procedures.
