Requirements: 

• Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification required.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public health administration or management, health care management or administration, nursing, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in healthcare quality in an acute care hospital with a minimum of 4 years in a leadership role.

• Knowledge of quality management and performance improvement principles and practices in an acute health care setting.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System standards
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent English language skills, verbal and written
• Strong computer skills in MS Office applications required.
• Skilled in conflict management and negotiation
• Experience in managing change in complex organizations
• Knowledgeable about continuous quality improvement, group facilitation, team building & total quality management, planning, organization and prioritization

Responsibilities and Duties: 

Under the guidance of the Dean of the School of Medicine and the CEO of the hospital, and under the direct authority of the Chief Of Staff, the QDM will provide the leadership and accountability for the medical quality system at LAUMC-RH.
The QDM is responsible for leading, directing and controlling the Medical Quality Management System within the medical center & hospital.
The QDM is responsible for day-to-day departmental operations, project management, technical support, presentation of strategic quality and performance improvement projects and improvement efforts. Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical departments, to develop aims, measures, work plans, and timelines for departmental and system wide initiatives and projects. The QDM assists LAUMC-RH clinical departments identify best practice to provide optimal care, measure performance, document key success factors and lessons learned in a cost-effective manner.
