• Evaluate new products in coordination with the central store and the end users.
• Estimate selling price of special items to be used on patients during surgeries.
• Control these items once billed on patient bills after surgeries and medical procedures.
• Control and sign all supplier invoices.

Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities and Duties: 

 Receive specimens, check the status and recheck their identification.
 Assist the pathologist in the technic of frozen section analysis.
 Assist the Pathologist in the macroscopic operations.
 Practice microscopic technique.
 Provide technical Immunohistochemistry.
 Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids, such as blood and urine, using microscope or automatic analyzer to detect abnormalities or diseases, and enter findings into computer.
 Examine cells stained with dye to locate abnormalities.
 Ensure the tissue stocks. Be responsible for the organisation and provision of containers and fixatives for further studies of tissues/fluids and for the packing and arranging transportation of tissues to other hospitals when required.
 Evaluate and document that quality control standards are met and assist in troubleshooting any problems that arise in methodology or instrumentation.
 Review and evaluate results of testing performed and inform supervisor, director and staff of any technical problems.
 Monitor reagent use and prepare appropriate volumes needed, records daily instrument temperatures and perform preventative maintenance on instruments according to prescribed protocols.
 Prepare standard volumetric solutions and reagents to be combined with samples, following standardized formulas or experimental procedures.
 Analyze the results of tests and experiments to ensure conformity to specifications, using special mechanical and electrical devices.
 Analyze and record test data to issue reports use for statistics.
 Consult with a pathologist to determine a final diagnosis when abnormal cells are found.
 Ensure the archiving of slides, blocks and stock products.
 Prepare weekly demand for domiciliary and para-pharmaceutical products.
 Calibrate and clean locations, machines and instruments.
 Replace the Secretary in her duties when needed especially in typing medical reports.
 Follow and ensure strict safety procedures.
